Because "Jacaranda" Can Mean Different Things in Plantation
The name Jacaranda gets used pretty broadly in Plantation real estate, which can make things confusing when you're trying to learn the area from online listings alone.
For this guide, I'm talking specifically about the Jacaranda Country Club area south of Broward Boulevard and north of I-595, between Nob Hill Road and Pine Island Road, primarily within the 33324 ZIP code.
That's different from Jacaranda Lakes farther north in 33322. It's also different from the Central Park area north of Broward Boulevard. Both of those areas deserve their own neighborhood guides.
Same city. Similar names. Very different pockets of Plantation.
AT THE HEART OF THE AREA
Jacaranda Golf Club Is More Than the Neighborhood Golf Course
It's difficult to talk about this part of Plantation without talking about Jacaranda Golf Club. The club sits along Broward Boulevard and features two 18-hole championship golf courses that wind through a substantial portion of the surrounding area.
But the club is also a familiar gathering place in Plantation. Beyond golf, its event spaces regularly host community and business gatherings, private events, holiday celebrations, weddings and golf tournaments.
If you're involved around Plantation, there's a good chance you've been there for something other than a round of golf. The Greater Plantation Chamber of Commerce, for example, frequently holds luncheon events at the club.
For residents in the surrounding communities, that makes the club more than scenery. The golf courses, water views and clubhouse help give this entire pocket of Plantation a distinct identity.
You don't have to be a golfer to know Jacaranda Golf Club. Around Plantation, it's a landmark in its own right.
WHAT YOU'LL FIND HERE
One Area. A Lot of Different Housing.
This is one of the biggest things buyers need to understand about Jacaranda Country Club. Two properties located relatively close to each other can offer completely different ownership experiences.
Golf-Course & Estate Homes
Some of the area's most distinctive single-family properties sit along or near the golf course, including homes within gated communities and properties with golf or water views.
Single-Family Neighborhoods
Beyond the gated golf-course properties, buyers will also find established single-family communities with different lot sizes, architectural styles and levels of renovation.
Condos & Townhomes
Jacaranda Country Club isn't exclusively a single-family-home market. Condo and townhome communities create additional ownership options, each with its own association structure, amenities and rules.
Rental Communities
Apartment and rental communities are also woven into this part of Plantation, adding another housing type to an already varied area.
SEARCH THE AREA, NOT JUST ONE SUBDIVISION
Homes for Sale Around Jacaranda Country Club
Here's one of the quirks of searching this part of Plantation: homes around Jacaranda Country Club can appear under several different subdivision names in the MLS. Searching only one of those names can leave out properties that are still within the area covered by this guide.
I've set up this search geographically around the Jacaranda Country Club area so you can browse current listings across the broader area instead of relying on a single subdivision name.
SEARCH JACARANDA COUNTRY CLUB AREA HOMESGOLF-COURSE LIVING
Living Along the Course Can Be Its Own Experience
Buyers looking in this area may encounter exclusive gated residential communities positioned along portions of the golf course, along with non-gated neighborhoods and attached housing nearby.
Golf-course and water views can make individual properties feel very different from homes located just a few streets away. Gated access, community amenities and association structures may also vary depending on exactly where you're looking.
That's why it's important not to assume every Jacaranda Country Club listing comes with the same neighborhood setup simply because the properties share the same general area.
The address may say Jacaranda. The ownership experience can be completely different.
READ THE FINE PRINT
HOA and Condo Homework Matters Here
Because this area includes everything from single-family neighborhoods to gated communities, townhomes and condominiums, association requirements can vary substantially from one property to another.
Depending on the property, buyers may need to evaluate association fees, included services, reserves, assessments, approval requirements, rental restrictions, pet rules and other community-specific documents.
Condo buyers may also have additional financing and insurance questions to work through depending on the building and association.
Don't compare two Jacaranda properties by purchase price alone.
LOOK PAST THE PRETTY STUFF
Look Beyond the Kitchen and Flooring
Properties throughout established areas of Plantation have been updated at different times and to different degrees. One home may have undergone substantial renovations while another nearby property may retain more of its original systems or finishes.
Roof age, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, windows and openings, permits and previous additions can all matter when evaluating a property, particularly because insurance can play such an important role in a South Florida purchase.
Pretty matters. So does everything behind the walls.
WHAT I NOTICE ABOUT JACARANDA COUNTRY CLUB
The Housing Can Change Quickly From One Pocket to the Next
One of the things that stands out to me about the Jacaranda Country Club area is how many different kinds of housing are packed into a relatively defined section of Plantation.
You can be looking at an exclusive gated home along the golf course and then, just a short distance away, be looking at a condo, townhome, apartment community or a more traditional single-family neighborhood.
The golf club helps tie the area together visually, but the individual communities surrounding it can feel quite different from one another. That's why I don't think buyers should decide they either do or don't like "Jacaranda" based on one listing or one street.
In Jacaranda Country Club, knowing the area is helpful. Knowing the individual community matters even more.
LOCATION WITHIN PLANTATION
Where Is the Jacaranda Country Club Area?
For purposes of this neighborhood guide, we're focusing on the area generally bounded by Broward Boulevard to the north, I-595 to the south, Nob Hill Road to the west and Pine Island Road to the east.
Its location near I-595 provides relatively direct access to a major east-west route through Broward County, while Broward Boulevard and Pine Island Road connect this part of Plantation with shopping, dining, services and other areas of the city.
If you're looking north of Broward Boulevard around Plantation Central Park, you're beginning to look at a different neighborhood area. Likewise, Jacaranda Lakes farther north in 33322 should not be confused with the Jacaranda Country Club area covered here.
BEFORE YOU CHOOSE A PROPERTY
What Should Buyers Compare?
Housing Type
Single-family home, gated golf-course property, townhome and condo ownership each come with different considerations.
Association
Understand fees, reserves, assessments, restrictions and exactly what the association is responsible for.
Property Condition
Evaluate the age and condition of major systems, not simply cosmetic updates.
Location Within the Area
Golf-course frontage, water views, gated access and proximity to major roads can create very different settings within the same general neighborhood.
PLANTATION GEOGRAPHY MATTERS
Jacaranda Country Club, Central Park and Jacaranda Lakes Are Not the Same Thing
This distinction is worth repeating because online real estate searches don't always make it obvious.
The Jacaranda Country Club area covered in this guide is primarily in 33324 and south of Broward Boulevard. Central Park is a separate area north of Broward Boulevard, while Jacaranda Lakes is farther north in 33322.
If you're relocating to Plantation, understanding those distinctions can make your online home search considerably easier.
Google Maps can get you to Plantation. Local context helps you understand which part of Plantation you're actually looking at.
